Circular construction: More than just recycling

The construction sector has historically been a huge producer of waste. But that's changing. With new EU regulations afoot and consumer demand for more environmentally-friendly buildings growing, the industry- and all of its suppliers- are being forced to adapt

Executive summary

In the EU, buildings produce about a third of all CO2 emissions (through things like lighting and heating) while the construction and manufacture of building materials account for about 5% of total emissions.

So it's no surprise that there's been a push to make the entire process more environmentally-friendly. But to do this, all partners within the supply chain need to be involved.

This report focuses on so-called circular construction based on the reusability of products and resources, and how it can make a difference.
