Executive summary
In December last year, a political agreement was reached on the taxonomy regulation, with the Technical Expert Group (TEG) finalising its taxonomy and green bond standard proposals in March this year. Meanwhile, the European Commission outlined its plans for a green deal at the end of last year, while more recently the ECB and EBA provided banks with further guidance on how they should integrate ESG issues in their policies and procedures. These are just a few out of many examples supporting the further sustainability efforts of banks, including in the field of green/social bond issues.
