Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell cautioned this week that the central bank may need to raise interest rates higher and faster than expected to tame inflation. European Central Bank member Robert Holzmann has called for another four rate hikes of 50bp a piece while in the UK, Bank of England policymaker Catherine Mann has also signalled further tightening ahead.
